My review
Project Arma works for me because it knows exactly what it is.
I went into Luca craving a very specific vibe—protective hero, instant connection, “mine” energy, damsel-in-distress moments—and that book delivered on every single one. The plot is simple, the tension works, and the romance pacing kept me glued to the page (to the point where I was reading until 3 a.m. on a work night).
Is it a masterpiece? No.
Was it exactly what I wanted at the time? Absolutely.
Eden scratched the same itch, but it didn’t surpass Luca. It’s more angsty and leans into a second-chance dynamic, which I usually enjoy, but the emotional payoff wasn’t quite as strong for me. I liked being back in the world, but it felt more like a solid continuation than a standout.
Across both books, the series keeps things accessible. You’re not overwhelmed with lore or explanations, and while we do get hints about Project Arma itself, it’s clear the bigger picture is being saved for later books.
If you’re willing to suspend disbelief and lean into the suspense-romance fantasy, this series is easy to enjoy.

If I had to critique something
-
Some moments require you to not think too hard about realism and just go with the story. If you’re someone who gets pulled out of a book by “there’s no way that would actually happen” situations, this might occasionally stand out.
-
The bigger mystery surrounding Project Arma unfolds slowly in the early books, with only small details revealed at a time.
-
Eden could’ve benefited from more emotional depth and stronger romantic buildup compared to Luca.
None of these were dealbreakers for me, but they do keep the series firmly in comfort-read territory rather than all-time favorite status.

Relationship tropes
Romance on the Project Arma series
The romances are fast, intense, and driven by protection and emotional safety.
-
Heroes are sweet, protective, and emotionally open, with some jealousy that never crossed into annoying territory for me
-
The attraction is immediate, but the relationships still focus on trust and connection
-
Luca delivers a cleaner, more satisfying romantic arc
-
Eden leans into second-chance tension, miscommunication, and unresolved hurt
My one consistent nitpick with Eden is that the spice sometimes arrives a little too easily. I personally wanted more buildup and tension before things fully clicked—but that’s very much a personal preference.
If you like straightforward romance where the conflict comes from fear, secrets, and stubbornness rather than external love triangles or unnecessary drama, this series fits nicely.
