About
Hi! I’m Becky.
I’m 29, a project manager at a software development agency by day… and a romance reader/reviewer by night. Very dramatic alter ego energy — except instead of fighting crime, I’m fighting bad book recs.
I started reading romance as a teenager (hello Twilight), and I never really stopped. In 2020, I finally gave up trying to track everything in my head and opened a Goodreads account. Since then, I’ve read:
- 2021: 155 books
- 2022: 109 books
- 2023: 141 books
- 2024: 70 books
- 2025: 44 books → You can probably guess when my 9-to-5 job started getting serious lol
So yes, I read a lot.
And I spend a lot of time looking for what to read next. Every year it feels like I have less time to search (hello adulthood — we’ve said hello a lot in this page already).
At some point, I realized I was spending literal hours every week hunting for my next book. Just this past week, I spent two hours on Monday and another hour on Tuesday scrolling, reading blurbs, checking reviews… and found nothing that caught my attention.
It’s frustrating. Especially when it feels like quality has taken a dive in recent years. Say whatever you want about Twilight, but it was well edited — especially compared to Fifty Shades of Grey.
So I created Romance Book Matchmaker.
I want to save people time.
I want a place where you can quickly figure out:
- Is this actually spicy?
- Is it slow burn or medium burn?
- Is it trashy fun or emotionally heavy?
- Are we talking werewolves, vampires, monsters, MMF, reverse harem?
- Is it worth my time?
Because sometimes I want something cozy and heartwarming.
Sometimes I want something messy and steamy.
Sometimes I want possessive werewolves.
Here you’ll find honest romance book recommendations, clear breakdowns, and enough information to decide if a book is worth your time — without ruining the experience.
My personal favorites? Steamy, medium-to-high burn romances. If it’s high steam with kinks and a little taboo, I’m interested. If it’s slow burn but the story is exceptional, I might love it just as much.
My goal is simple: help you find a story you’ll love. And selfishly, I’m hoping to build a community where you send your best recs my way too (still figuring out how, but hey, I need to start somewhere).

Oh hey! I’m Becky, book hugger and the one-woman team behind RBM. I hope my reviews help you find a story you’ll love.
