My review
This trilogy is a writing masterpiece. A hot and sexy masterpiece.
There is a lot of drama—especially in book two. And yes, there were moments where I thought some of it was unnecessary (Embry, I’m looking directly at you). I don’t usually have patience for heavy drama, but the writing is so precise, beautiful, and intentional that I still couldn’t stop reading.
“I remind myself that I chose this way of living. Or it chose me. I’m still not sure which.” – American King.
What really sets this series apart is how confidently it commits to complexity. This isn’t a story you skim. It’s dense, layered, and emotionally demanding. Politics, power, loyalty, jealousy, devotion—everything is intertwined. I went in hesitant because I don’t like politics in my romance, but here it reads more like court intrigue in a royal fantasy than modern political commentary. It works.
The ending—specifically the epilogue in American King—left me completely undone. It’s one of the most heartfelt epilogues I’ve ever read. I needed that ending.
This is genuinely one of the best series I’ve ever read. I have over 800 books logged on Goodreads, and I don’t say that lightly. I’ll probably never reread it—it’s too rich and emotionally heavy for that—but the experience of reading it was unforgettable.

If I had to critique something
This is not a light read—emotionally or thematically.
The drama can feel overwhelming at times, particularly in American Prince. And the series deals with extremely heavy themes, including suicide, rape, infidelity, war, death, violence, infertility, and incest. This is not something to walk into casually.
If you’re looking for an easy, escapist romance, this is not it.
But if you love complex plots, polyamory, power dynamics, and dark, challenging themes handled with exceptional writing—this series is absolutely worth your time.

Romance on the New Camelot series
I have never read a romance like this.
“You want to take care of me? Then fu$%ing own me. Wreck me. Tear me up and sew me back together the way that only you know how.” – American Queen.
The relationship between Greer, Embry, and Ash is raw in a way that feels almost invasive—in the best possible sense. It’s erotic, yes, but also deeply psychological. The jealousy, generosity, protectiveness, submission, dominance, and absolute need to belong to one another are explored without flinching.
This is erotic romance that seduces the mind first.
“I only want my pain and humiliation from one man.” – American Prince.
The series handles power exchange, kink, and MMF dynamics with an honesty that feels rare. Nothing is simplified. Nothing is sanitized. Desire is messy, selfish, jealous, generous, and deeply loving all at once.
The intimacy feels more powerful and erotic because it’s rooted in trust, sacrifice, and choice—not just lust (though there is plenty of that too).
