  American King is the third and final installment in the New Camelot Trilogy by Sierra Simone, and yes—this book finishes you.

  This book is devastating in the best possible way. If you’ve ever played fighting games, American King is the final combo—the fatality, the last punch straight to the gut.

  Dramatic? Absolutely. Accurate? Also yes.

  This trilogy is some of the best writing I’ve ever read, full stop. It’s relentless, intimate, painful, erotic, and deeply reflective. 

  The epilogue? Bittersweet. Earned. Worth every page.

  Just like the previous books—but even more so—this installment tackles heavy themes. If you’re sensitive to darker emotional or sexual content, I strongly recommend checking content warnings before diving in.

  Timing 

  If you’ve read books 1 and 2 and are waiting for the perfect moment to finish the trilogy—don’t. Pull the trigger.

  I made the mistake of spacing these books too far apart. I read American Prince in July 2025 and waited until December 2025 to finally read American King, because the series was so good I didn’t want it to end. Ironically, that made the experience slightly harder than it needed to be.

  American King revisits many pivotal scenes from American Prince, but this time from Ash’s perspective. Those moments hit harder—and deeper—when they’re fresh in your mind. I found myself going back to American Prince repeatedly just to relive scenes from both sides: Embry’s version and then Ash’s.

  Ash: The King, The Dom, The Man

  I didn’t know I wanted to know everything about Ash until I started this book.

  And then I wanted more.

  This book gives you his backstory, his wounds, his desires, and his darkness—fully, unapologetically. Ash is complex, commanding, and devastatingly self-aware. His love is not gentle, but it is absolute.

  “My love was—and is—implacable and cruel to those it chose.”

  Ash is, hands down, the best Dom I’ve ever read. Period.

  Not just because of control or dominance—but because of how deeply he loves, how much he gives. His mind is ridiculously sexy.

  Let’s talk spice.

  This book is SPICY. Sweaty. Intense. And there’s more of it than I expected—which I very much appreciated.

  Does it ever flirt with being almost too much? Maybe.

  Did I want less of Ash? Absolutely not.

  Expect to sweat while reading this.

  If you’ve read the first two books… come on. Complete the series. You won’t regret it.
