My review
The Alpha series barely feels like a traditional series—and I mean that as the highest compliment. This is one of the most underrated series I’ve ever read.
To me, this reads like one story split in half, told from two radically different angles. It feels as though the author wrote Alpha, realized there was still so much left unsaid, and then wrote Sigma to tell the other side of the truth.
I first read Alpha in 2024 and intentionally saved Sigma for later. Turns out that instinct was spot-on—Sigma was exactly what I needed to pull me out of a reading slump.
Reading these books together feels like watching the same movie twice:
-
Once through the eyes of someone trapped, confused, and fighting to survive
-
And once through the lens of someone who understands what’s happening behind the scenes
That dual perspective is what makes this duology stand out. The emotional payoff is stronger because you earn the full picture only by reading both.
If you enjoy sci-fi romance with super-soldier heroes, alien DNA experiments, captivity, and instinct-driven love stories, this duology is absolutely worth your time. It may not follow a conventional series structure—but together, Alpha and Sigma tell a complete, emotionally satisfying story.

If I had to critique something
This is less a critique and more light nitpicking.
The tonal shift between books is noticeable.
Alpha thrives on mystery and unanswered questions, while Sigma delivers a delightful information overload, almost as if it’s compensating for everything Book 1 intentionally withheld.
Personally, I loved both approaches—but readers who prefer consistent pacing and tone should know this going in.

Romance on the Alpha series
The romance in both books follows a similar emotional framework:
-
Instant, instinctual mate recognition on the hero’s side
-
Heroines who fall not because of fate alone, but because these men are protective, gentle, and emotionally safe
-
Heroes who are physically intimidating—enhanced, dangerous, built as weapons—but unexpectedly soft where it matters
Despite the sci-fi premise, the romances are surprisingly tender. The emotional bond grounds the story and keeps the darker elements from overwhelming the narrative.
