About the series
Whisper Waves is book #1 of the Soulful Seas Duet series
Well, this is the first book of the series, so technically yes, but check the ending type above in case you want to avoid cliffhangers.
Book Blurb
Your deceased loved ones are only a whisper away.
They are still here, still with you, even though you cannot see them.
Unlike me, I can see them just fine.
People call me weird, crazy even, but I only want to help the souls who are trapped in between and the loved ones they leave behind.
Until my good intentions get me locked away and leave me broken and traumatized. So much so, I swear to never talk to a spirit again.
But a road trip through the country—driving away from a home that has nothing left for me—and a night spent in the arms of tequila, helps me find myself in the embrace of a strong and handsome fisherman with ocean blue eyes.
The same ocean blue eyes his three brothers have, including the one who is a ghost.
He needs my help, but can I leave the shadows of my shackles behind to ensure he will find the light?

Rating & review
My review
I was going through a bad reading slump when I stumbled upon this book—and wow, I loved it! It hooked me right from the beginning.
The Vibes of Whisper Ways
Think: small coastal town, fishing boats, unexplained mysteries, and a reverse harem that begins to form in this book and fully comes together in the second. This is a duet, so the full story wraps up in book two.
The book opens with our female main character (FMC) having a one-night stand. I’m pretty neutral on that kind of beginning—it’s more of a setup device to get the characters to meet—but the story that unfolds afterward really drew me in. I found it sweet and intriguing, especially as we get to know the characters more deeply.
The downside? Around the halfway point, I figured out where the story was going, which did spoil the experience a bit for me.
Our FMC: Sloane
Sloane, 30, fits the “sad girl” archetype—resilient, and often unrealistically optimistic, especially considering the tough life she’s had up until she meets the love interests.
Honestly, if I hadn’t looked up her age for this review, I would’ve guessed she was 21. Aside from her experience as a car mechanic (which is portrayed really well and adds depth to her character), her behavior and thinking felt a lot younger—there’s a certain naïveté about her. For the record, I’m 28, so her mental age stood out to me.
I really appreciated how her profession was handled. When a book actually incorporates the FMC’s job into her identity instead of treating it like a side note, it makes her feel more real to me.
Reverse Harem Dynamics (Minor Spoiler)
This might be a bit of a spoiler, but the reverse harem here involves brothers (No MM of course). In the first book, there aren’t any group spicy scenes (if you know what I mean).
This isn’t my favorite type of harem—mainly because it doesn’t feel super realistic for something like this to happen naturally—but hey, I read it as pure fantasy, and it worked for what it was.
