About the series
Slave to Sensation is book #1 of the Psy-Changeling series
Well, this is the first book of the series, so technically yes, but check the ending type above in case you want to avoid cliffhangers.

In a world that denies emotions, where the ruling Psy punish any sign of desire, Sascha Duncan must conceal the feelings that brand her as flawed. To reveal them would be to sentence herself to the horror of ‘rehabilitation’ – the complete psychic erasure of her personality…
Both human and animal, Lucas Hunter is a Changeling hungry for the very sensations the Psy disdain. After centuries of uneasy co-existence, these two races are now on the verge of war over the brutal murder of several Changeling women. Lucas is determined to find the Psy killer who butchered his packmate, and Sascha is his ticket into their closely guarded society. But he soon discovers that this ice-cold Psy is very capable of passion – and that the animal in him is fascinated by her.
Caught between their conflicting worlds, Lucas and Sascha must remain bound to their identities – or sacrifice everything for a taste of darkest temptation…

Rating & review
My review
This is one of my absolute favorite books—like Hall of Fame, easy Top 20.
If I had to describe this book in one word, it would be: SEXY. It has the perfect balance of everything I love in a romance: shifter dynamics, a true alpha male (protective and a little jealous—just enough to make you melt), a strong plot (honestly, one of the best I’ve ever read), and sensual, well-written intimacy. The sex scenes are among the hottest I’ve come across—steamy without being over-the-top erotic (though they’re definitely explicit enough, wink wink).
This is the first book in the series and the perfect introduction to the Psy-Changeling world. While the worldbuilding becomes more complex in later books, Nalini gives you just enough here to follow the story easily, revealing a bit at a time so it never feels overwhelming. It’s a completely unique world—the Psy are like nothing I’ve seen before in other books.
Now, the characters…
The chemistry between the couple is off the charts. Nalini builds tension so well you feel like you’re going to explode from the romantic buildup. But she also shows great progression. The spicy scenes start fairly early, but they match the emotional development of the relationship perfectly. I won’t say more to avoid spoilers.
Sascha is proof that a character can be genuinely good without being boring or a goody two shoes. She’s strong, without being loud or overly bold.
Lucas is a joy to read. He’s a true alpha male—the kind of character who never apologizes for who he is. I especially loved how observant he is with Sascha.
