If I had to critique something
From books five through seven, the stories become predictable, following Suzanne Wright’s familiar formula: a strong alpha male, a heroine in danger, escalating threats, and a dramatic climax where someone nearly dies. By book seven, I felt bored with this repetition.
However, if I’m stuck in a reading slump and want the comfort of familiar characters and an easy, entertaining story, I’d still consider picking up another book from the series. From books five through seven, the stories become predictable, following Suzanne Wright’s familiar formula: a strong alpha male, a heroine in danger, escalating threats, and a dramatic climax where someone nearly dies. Romance on the Dark in You series
One of the best parts of the series is the push-and-pull dynamic between Knox and Harper—their relationship is truly a highlight.
- Knox Thorne is the definition of an alpha male. Honestly, after reading Burn, I’ve come across many books where the male main characters seem heavily inspired by Knox.
- Harper Wallis is also one of my favorite heroines. Her personality is so refreshing—she’s strong, funny, and easy to root for.
The romance between them is seriously HOT, yet I never felt like the spicy scenes were excessive or too frequent.
