What I love about Ali Hazelwood
Now here’s the thing—Hazelwood doesn’t write the kind of smut-heavy, steamy romance I usually read (aka 80% of my TBR). So when a book skips on that, it better deliver big time on story, character, and romance. And to my surprise, for Bride it did.
She nailed the pacing. Bride’s plot was neither too simple nor too convoluted—just enough twists and reveals to keep me hooked. I especially loved the mini quotes at the start of each chapter. Those details matter, and they added depth to the whole experience.
Most of all, Bride shifted my view of Hazelwood. I went in expecting a safe, maybe-too-clean romance—and instead got instinct-driven werewolf vibes, a unique heroine, and a deliciously tense buildup. Hazelwood surprised me in the best way, and now I’ll be paying much closer attention to what she writes next—especially if she keeps exploring paranormal romance.
